GCIS Users must adhere to the following data requirements:
GCIS student data is solely for the purpose to promote Graduate Education within Florida SUS Institutions. Users may provide access or may distribute
information from the GCIS database to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within their institution to promote graduate education such as fellowship opportunities,
Ph.D. programs, funded campus visits, summer research internships, Master's programs, application fee waivers, research symposium invitations, new scholarships, online
graduate degrees, webinars, graduate recruiting events and other academic endeavors.
Florida SUS Institutions shall not distribute any student information from GCIS to any person or entity not employed by your Institution or for any
purpose other than promoting graduate education within the Florida State University System.
I understand and agree that our institution will provide UNSUBSCRIBE options with each email to GCIS prospects. If your institution does not have
UNSUBSCRIBE capability then I agree that our institution will not spam contact by email or otherwise prospective GCIS students who do not respond or do not respond
favorably to our messaging and limit to no more than 2-3 email messages per student.
The GCIS Database is re-created from scratch annually. Florida SUS Institutions shall purge all previous student data received from GCIS annually
at the end of the graduate recruitment cycle typically in May/June/July. The purge of student data information refers to all student information downloads from GCIS
who have graduated with a bachelor's degree. This does not refer to any information received from interested GCIS students such as admissions applications and
accompanying documents of materials or other related student information via the graduate recruitment process. It also does not refer to Junior level students
who will remain enrolled at a Florida SUS University during their senior year for viable graduate student recruitment.
All student data downloaded from GCIS should be stored and housed on secure servers at SUS institutions.
GCIS lists of student data will not be shared via email at SUS institutions; direct file downloads only are the preferred method of student data transfer.
Each SUS Institution determines their own User access for GCIS; it is recommended to have Centralized Access to GCIS with minimal Users per campus.
